Cleaning, storage, and when to retire a disc.
Cleaning, storage, and when to retire a disc. TrueCut keeps support on email so the cutting shop can answer with the blade and material you already named. Operated by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd from Sunnyrock 1401.
Get in touch through our contact form when a disc is loading up, running hot, or leaving burn marks on the cut. Check the matching details in Blades, Holders, and Kerfs before putting a cleaned blade back on the saw.
Inspect the plate for resin build-up, chipped tips, wobble near the bore, and blueing after long cutting runs. In South African workshops, MDF dust, pine pitch, and coastal humidity can shorten blade life when discs are stored dirty or stacked loose.
Store clean discs flat in foam or on a dry rack so carbide tips do not knock together during transport or storage. Keep unused discs in the original foam with the label intact, and do not oil the plate before inspection. Sharpening contacts are available for Johannesburg, Durban, and Cape Town when a blade is dull rather than cracked or heat-marked.
Storage or cleaning queries can be sent through our contact form. Blade catalogue support includes disc care, kerf checks, and replacement timing, with Kya Sands, Johannesburg as the reference point.
