Flange checklist

Wipe, seat, star-torque, spin-check.

Flange checklist

Use this flange checklist before fitting any saw blade to the arbor. Dust, pitch, burrs and a nicked clamping face can push a blade off centre, especially after a busy shift in Kya Sands or in salty coastal air. If you need a workshop copy in PDF form, use our contact form.

Pair the checklist with the blade spec and the material being cut that day. A flange that runs true on mild steel can still mark trouble when resin build-up, stainless swarf or tile dust sits between the faces. Keep the check close to the machine so spin direction, seating and torque are verified before power-up.

Before the first spin

Check blade options under Blades, match stock under Materials, and confirm cutting width under Kerfs. Those three references help the fitter confirm that the flange set, blade bore and kerf requirement all belong on the same machine.

Checks for South African sites

Workshop conditions here vary more than many fitters expect. Inland dust, coastal corrosion and repeated generator restarts can all affect clamping surfaces, so the checklist focuses on wiping, seating, star-torque sequence and a manual spin-check before cutting starts.

PDF copy and bay use
