Score on laminate

Scoring the laminate face

Score line just through the face paper. Gallery leaves exist for workshops that want a visual reference before they open a blade path. This is not a moodboard dump. Each frame ties back to a kerf habit or a disc geometry.

Pair this frame with Blades and Kerfs when you are setting a scorer to nick only the melamine or HPL skin before the main blade passes. On chipboard and MDF panels, the mark should break the face paper cleanly without dragging core fibres up into the cut. Use our contact form if you need a larger image for machine setup sheets or operator training.

What the score line shows

A correct score on laminate sits shallow and even from edge to edge, with no white chipping beside the line and no heavy witness mark left by the main blade. Check that the scorer tracks exactly with the sawblade path, especially after blade changes or flange cleaning. On boards with brittle decorative faces, a tiny height error can show up long before feed pressure feels wrong.
