Handoff card

Shift card clipped to the saw guard. Gallery leaves exist for workshops that want a visual reference before they open a blade path. This is not a moodboard dump. Each frame ties back to a kerf habit or a disc geometry.

Use this still beside the Blades and Kerfs pages when you brief the next operator on a saw change. The card shown here is the kind of quick reference that stays clipped near the guard, with blade code, material, kerf note, and the cut direction written large enough for a dusty bay. If you need a clearer print file for the notice board, send the request through our contact form.

What stays on the card

A useful handoff card carries the blade diameter, tooth count, kerf size, and the stock being cut on that shift. It should also note feed behaviour, chip-out on the exit face, and whether scoring was used on melamine or veneered board. In a South African workshop, that quick record helps when one team hands over to the next after tea or load shedding interruptions.

Limits

The photo is tidy, but a live card picks up resin marks, pencil notes, and fine dust within a day. What matters is that the writing can still be read beside the machine, even with hearing protection on and extraction running. Keep the note short, waterproof if possible, and clipped where the operator checks blade rotation and guard position.
