Flange seat

Clean flange face before torque. Gallery leaves exist for workshops that want a visual reference before they open a blade path. This is not a moodboard dump. Each frame ties back to a kerf habit or a disc geometry.

Use the image alongside Blades and Kerfs when checking the flange seat after a blade change. The contact face must be free of pitch, fine swarf, paint flakes and burrs before the outer flange goes back on. If you need a sharper training print for the workshop wall, send it through our contact form.

Flange seat inspection points

A good flange seat shows full metal contact around the bore area, not bright spots on one side only. Resin build-up, a nick from rough handling, or trapped dust can push the blade off true and start a side-to-side run. Check the seat with the machine isolated, wipe it clean, and look for witness marks that repeat after each fitment.

Limits

On a busy South African workshop site, airborne MDF dust and steel fines settle on everything around the spindle. That contamination is enough to affect clamping pressure and leave chatter marks in the cut. The photo is there to show what a clean seating face looks like before torque is applied.
